Cairns and District Family History Society

The association was founded in 1989 to promote and encourage genealogical research in Cairns and its surrounding areas.  Many archives are accessible, including the GRO Index of Births, Marriages and Deaths from 1837-1910 and the 1841-1891 Censuses of England and Wales on Microfilm and CD-ROM.

Central Queensland Family History Association

The association was established in 1986 and their aim is to make genealogical resources available for people wishing to conduct genealogical research.

Queensland Genealogical Society

The association was founded in 1978.  Since 1993, they have filmed and indexed Baptism, Marriage and Burial Records for over 40 Catholic parishes in the South East of the state and have indexed records for many cemeteries.

They have also developed the Muster Roll 1859-1901 to celebrate the state’s 150th Anniversary.  Their site also contains a schedule of Member’s Interests.
