Red River Valley Genealogical Society

The association serves Eastern North Dakota and Western Minnesota.  Many resources are available in their Library.  These cover most counties and include:

  • Cemetery Records
  • Church Registers

  • Plat Books

Some Funeral Home Indexes are on the site, along with a link to Indexes of Cemetery Transcriptions.  The association has lifted obituaries published in the Fargo Forum since November 1975 and are able to supply copies of these records for a fee. 

For a fee, Pioneer Certificates are granted by the society to anyone who can prove they are directly descended from a person who lived in the area of Dakota Territory before 2 November 1889, when it became the state of North Dakota.

For a fee, they are also prepared to search in Census Returns if you send them the necessary information.
