Hertfordshire Transportees, a book written by Ken Griffin is also available, and is primarily intended to be used by family historians who may find they have a relative who was tried at the Courts.  It can also help local historians who wish to use this information to assess how the crime affected people in the area.

This book provides details regarding criminals who were prosecuted in Hertfordshire Assizes, Hertfordshire Quarter Sessions, Liberty of St Albans Quarter Sessions, Hertford Borough Sessions and the St Albans Borough Sessions.

Covering the period 1784-1866, information contained in this book reveals details of the criminal’s age, where they were tried, details of their crime, their victims and how they were dealt with by the courts.
