Lanarkshire Family History Society

Lanarkshire Family History Society was established in 1991.

Originally known as Hamilton and District Family History Society, the group held monthly meetings in Hamilton Reference Library.  As membership of the Society grew, they moved to Motherwell Heritage Centre.  As the Society grew larger, they then moved to the GLO Centre in 2006.

Their aim is to help people conduct genealogical research in Lanarkshire, but they do hold documents relating to other areas of Scotland.
