County and other Societies

Jackson County Genealogical Society

Many resources are accessible in their Library located at 211 W. Ganson Street, Suite 170, Jackson, MI 49201, which include a map of Townships in the area. Indexes of Jackson Co. Deaths 1886-1899 and 1900-1901 are also accessible.

Many Historical Records have been transcribed and indexed by the association, and it is possible to search for all individuals mentioned in them.

Thee society has transcribed names of the interred in Mountain Home, Mountain Home Jewish, Riverside and Riverside Jewish Cemeteries and have listed Heads of Government for the City of Kalamazoo which starts in 1843.


Leelanau Historical Society

The association was established in 1957, its aim being to collect and preserve the history of Leelanau County.

Many resources are available in their museum located at 203 East Cedar Street, Leland, Michigan, which include Photographs, Letters, Government Documents, Newspapers and Manuscripts.

Macomb County Genealogy Group

The association was established in 1973 in order to provide a forum where people could share experiences and assist each other with their research. There are links to some Databases are on the site, which include:
