Webster County Historical and Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1980.  Its aims are to encourage people to preserve their heritage and to give them a better understanding of family history, the history of Kentucky, and American history.

The society has numerous resources which are accessible in their research room, situated in the Community Room, Webster County Library, Dixon.  

Numerous publications are available for sale, which include:

Whitley County Historical and Genealogy Society

The association was established in 1996 and now has over 400 members.  

An extensive collection of resources are accessible in their library, which include:

  • Funeral Records and Obituaries from Whitley and McCreary Counties in Kentucky and Campbell County in Tennessee
  • Military Books including books relating to the Revolutionary War, Civil War and World War 2, Korean War and the Vietnam War
