County Societies

Clarke-Oconee Genealogical Society

Church Records and Histories are accessible on the site. Court Records are also available, which incorporate:

Cobb County Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1979 as Northeast Cobb Georgia Genealogical Society.  It changed its name to Cobb County Genealogical Society in 1990.  Its aims are to promote and encourage interest in genealogy and family history and to publish genealogical records relating to the area.

A list of cemeteries in the area is available on the site, along with a history of the county.

Many records are available for sale through their site, which include:

  • 1840 Census for Cobb Co.
  • Cobb Co. Cemeteries Volumes I, II and III
  • Deed Book A - Volumes I and II
  • History of the 7th District A & M School 1906-1940s
  • Marriages 1865-1937 (Whites), 1865-1966 (Black)

They also sell a Table of Contents and Topical Index to their newsletter covering 1979-1990 and volumes of Family Tree Quarterly, their quarterly publication.

Coweta County Genealogical Society

Decatur County Historical and Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1995.  They are currently compiling a book regarding Decatur Co. First Families.
