East Georgia Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1991 as Piedmont Regional Genealogy Society, changing to its current name in 2000.  

The aim of the Society is to raise the standard of genealogical research.

They publish a quarterly newsletter and it possible to purchase back issues of this publication on the site.

Augusta Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1979.  They have a Library where books, maps, microfiche, manuscripts, the Mims and Mealing Collections and audio tapes are accessible, along with Ancestor Chart Files and a Surname-Area file which are both indexed by family name.

Clarke-Oconee Genealogical Society

Cobb County Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1979 as Northeast Cobb Georgia Genealogical Society.  It changed its name to Cobb County Genealogical Society in 1990.  Its aims are to promote and encourage interest in genealogy and family history and to publish genealogical records relating to the area.

A list of cemeteries in the area is available on the site, along with a history of the county.

Many records are available for sale through their site, which include:

The association was established in 1995.  They are currently compiling a book regarding Decatur Co. First Families.

Henry and Clayton Counties Genealogical Society

Ancestors Unlimited of Clayton County and The Henry County Genealogy Association merged in 1992 to become The Genealogical Society of Henry and Clayton Counties.

Huxford Genealogical Society

The association was established in 1972.  Numerous publications are available for sale which includes the Pioneer Families of the Wiregrass Region.  This covers Coastal Georgia to Northwest Florida and East Alabama and from Macon to Central Florida. Lowndes County Genealogical Society

An early history of Lowndes County and Valdosta is accessible on the site.  There is also an Old Pay Roll of 1836 which is Capt. Sharp’s Company Florida Volunteers for the Indian War, 1836.
